Meet Alex — the website overhaul begins

Tech Committee of PIR - Intergroup Report
Last meeting of the Tech Committee was Tuesday, January 9, 2024. We continue to answer requests to update the website, in person meetings, et cetera. At time of writing this report there are no outstanding requests.

Our last meeting was dedicated to an introductory call with a new contact, Alex, who may be able to help us accomplish one of our long-term goals of overhauling the front facing website. Please see the bullet point notes of that meeting below.

* Alex's background is in web development for business application and software engineering, but has made many websites like the one we are trying to create.
* David L and Dave M introduced Alex to the service website, what we like and what needs to be polished.
* We communicated to Alex what our needs are, what functionality is required - aesthetically pleasing and functional blog / social media integration. Import current content into newly designed templates.
* Alex believes he can accomplish most of what we need, but we may need outside help with graphic and artistic design. Alex has contacts that could help with this. Graphic services will require an energy exchange ($).
* Alex feels comfortable starting work on this, Tech Comm will provide Alex with credentials to work on our server, to begin designing behind the scenes.
* We will reconvene next week to check in on progress and see where Alex may need assistance.
