Tech 2.0 begins: the fellowship moves to WPX

David L filed the migration request on October 9, 2025: the WordPress site would move by plugin, HTTPS intact, with WPX installing and configuring W3 Total Cache and Autoptimize with their pre-configured settings. No mail would be transferred - the fellowship’s email stayed where it was.
WPX support (Alexander G. and Elena N.) walked the standard path: migration completed, then the DNS handoff - nameservers ns1/ns2/ns3.wpx.net (or an A record to the origin) - with a 24-48 hour propagation window and a warning not to touch the site mid-move. WPX Cloud (their XDN edge) came enabled by default, which only reaches full speed when the domain points through their nameservers.
Two details worth keeping:
- The cache plugins arrived pre-tuned. W3 Total Cache and Autoptimize were installed by the host, with settings chosen for their servers - a decision whose consequences (both good and subtle) surface again and again in later entries on this desk, all the way to the great slowness investigation a year later.
- The SSL certificate was offered a ride but declined - the existing cert could be moved if provided, or a free WPX certificate installed after propagation. Three months later, publications needed a reissue.
The subdomains - service, publications, and later newsletter and publicrelations - would follow onto the same platform. The Tech 2.0 era (documented in the Tech Com desk) ran on this new ground.
The first domino of Tech 2.0.
