The domain comes home (and buys its ticket twice)

TL;DR: The psychedelicsinrecovery.org domain transfer from SiteGround hit a snag: the checkout flow sold a duplicate hosting plan instead of charging for the transfer, and the site greeted visitors with "Not Found." A records were re-pointed while WPX's system admins untangled the billing.

When the domain itself moved from SiteGround to WPX in January 2026, the checkout experience quietly sold a second WordPress hosting plan instead of simply charging for the transfer. The duplicate was cancelled, but the double purchase had wedged something in WPX’s system, and the main site served visitors a stark “The requested URL was not found on this server.”

Kevin F. jumped into the ticket to own the mix-up and ask for the duplicate’s refund to the card used - which WPX forwarded to their teams. Denis S. diagnosed the plan duplication and gave the interim move: update the domain’s A records at SiteGround to 198.60.193.33 until the System Admins could fix the underlying issue. Konstantin K. clarified which records (SiteGround’s, not WPX’s), David L. made the change and shared the DNS screenshots, and Georgi Y. confirmed receipt.

The subdomains, already pointing at WPX, never blinked. The escalation carried the System Admins’ working-hours caveat of the era - Monday-Friday, 09:00-18:00 GMT+2 (their schedule later shifted to GMT+3).

It’s a small comedy in retrospect - the domain literally purchased two seats on the same flight - and a reminder of a pattern this desk keeps meeting: third-party checkout flows quietly making architectural decisions. The same instinct later showed up as browser-supplied advice in the server-health morning.

The sign on the door now matches the building.
