Every committee gets its own desk button, the growth badge learns some manners, and three new pages join the family

TL;DR: Seven committee pages now carry their own helpdesk desk button, so a request for help lands directly with the right team instead of in a generic pile. The growth badge got its third revision: a cleaner close button with a pulse-glow ring, and it now hides (together with the cart) when you scroll down and returns when you scroll up, just like the navbar. Three new pages went live — the PIR® Timeline, the Newsletter Committee's comeback, and the Publications umbrella. Every PIR page now draws from one color family, back-to-top buttons took their places in the heroes, and the committee minutes began their move to GitHub, in the open.

🎫 A desk of one’s own

Every committee page on the service site — Literature, Tech, PR, GSR, Intergroup, ForaPIR and the Board of Directors — now links its own desk in the A.L.E.X. helpdesk family, with the how-the-desks-work guide beside it. Before, a fellow with a question had to know which door to knock on; now the door introduces itself. Type /techcom, /litcom, /pr, /github or /mod anywhere in Discord, fill in the short form, and a private thread opens that only you and that team can see. No Discord? The Helpdesk Portal does the same job in a browser.

🌟 The growth badge, third revision

The little “we’re always growing” badge — the one that gently suggests a force-refresh when a page looks stale — came back with better manners:

  • The close button moved to the top-left as a simple X with a pulse-glow ring (no more embossed oval — you asked, we listened).
  • On phones it sits properly centered.
  • It now hides together with the cart when you scroll down and both return when you scroll up, exactly like the navbar — it keeps out of the way while you read.
  • Dismiss it and it stays gone for 14 days, then checks in again. It’s a reminder, not a popup ad.

📄 Three new pages join the family

🎨 One color family, site-wide

Calendars now wear a greenish-blue, Zoom links a bright blue, minutes a green, the GitHub Root a dark purple with light-purple text, and the AstroLog a dark purple with light-blue text. Small thing, big difference: your eyes learn the map.

⬆️ Back to top, whenever you’ve scrolled too far

The GSR page’s clock icon-box became a back-to-top control, the useful forms baked themselves into the hero banner, and Literature, PR and Tech heroes all gained a back-to-top button of their own. More pages get theirs in the next round.

📚 The minutes begin their move to GitHub

The By-Laws now live as a canonical, versioned bylaws.md in the open — always viewable, never a permission-blocked link — and the legacy Tech Committee minutes follow the next day (that entry is its own story). Where the minutes will live from now on is no longer a Google Doc with a locked door; it’s a changelog the whole fellowship can read.

Round 4 of the Tech Committee’s service sprint — logged with gratitude for every fellow who clicks, reads, and force-refreshes.
