The ping that broke the silence, and the suite speaks past-tense

HighWordPress sites 2 min readBy Christopher W
TL;DR: Chris's ping brought the EMCP bridge back after ~50 dark minutes, and the whole post-convention pass landed: the Convention Hub hero now says the gathering has concluded, its Live Stream card points to the archive with Revisit, the livestream page wears a record disclaimer with the YouTube channel link, and convention-astro's streamed highlight card links straight to the recordings - built, broken by lost frontmatter fences, repaired from git history, and verified green.

📡 The ping

At 09:58 Chris pinged the EMCP bridge and it woke mid-sentence. Lesson kept: after a long silence, a human ping (a WPX panel visit or plugin re-ping) has revived the bridge every time. The pattern now has three data points.

🏠 The Convention Hub, past-tense

  • Hero pills: the date pill now reads October 8-11, 2026 - the gathering has concluded; the stream pill became The galleries are growing. The hero kept its hub language (The gatherings of Psychedelics In Recovery™ – PIR®, The Convention Hub).
  • The Live Stream card speaks past tense - the stream has wrapped for 2026, Revisit → - with its link unchanged.
  • Verified in served HTML: new strings present, old strings gone, home page untouched (its heading break and two-link teaser from the morning still intact).

📼 The livestream page wears its record badge

The livestream page (non-Elementor, post 14495) got a disclaimer container at the top: the page is the record as it stood for those visiting at the time of the event, now serving those looking for the recordings - with the YouTube channel link up front. The purchase-tense intro stays beneath as the historical how-to-watch steps.

The streamed highlight card on the convention site’s overview gained a real call-to-action: Watch the recordings on YouTube (data spine got a typed optional link field; the bento renderer renders it; extras.css v4 styles it gold). Along the way the Pages deploy went red twice: two full-file pushes had dropped each file’s opening frontmatter fence - the same class of handoff corruption as the app-shell stubs, but self-inflicted this time. Rebuilt both files from the pre-incident blobs, re-applied the edits, build verified green locally, pushed the repair (ff8d9e8). New standing rule: full-file pushes of .astro files get a local build check before the push, and the opening — fence is on the pre-flight checklist.
