The Election Committee's desk: opened June 20, hibernated August 23
TL;DR: The Election Committee - the temporary committee that gathered the fellowship's recommendations and seated the 2027 board - opened its desk with its first town hall on **June 20, 2026**, worked through the summer, held its last meeting on **August 23, 2026**, and hibernated the desk with the work done. The new board was revealed to the fellowship in the [October 17, 2026 GSR meeting](/changelog-astro-public/changelog/gsr-com/2026-10-17-gsr-october-2026-meeting/). Nested here as a BOD subcommittee, the way SSS nests in Intergroup. And the thread that matters most: **the new by-laws grew out of this committee's work** ([the by-laws](https://www.psychedelicsinrecovery.org/by-laws/)).

Why a subcommittee →
The Election Committee was temporary: seated to gather recommendations and seat the 2027 board, and dissolved once that work was done. Its records belong to governance, so they live on the Board of Directors’ foyer as a BOD subcommittee - the same nesting the Service Structure Working Group keeps within Intergroup.
And the thread that matters most: the new by-laws grew out of this committee’s work. The town hall’s questions about elections, positions and best practices became the fellowship’s governing document - which the new board now carries (the by-laws).
