Sixteen groups report in: attendance, motions and open service roles

TL;DR: The September GSR written reports, recorded as submitted: sixteen groups checked in. Attendance ranged from 2 in Ann Arbor to about 40 at Sunday Integration. Sunday Integration passed three motions at its 8/30 business meeting, and the open service roles worth filling this quarter are chair, greeter, facilitator, time keeper and GSR positions across eight groups.

Written reports

  1. San Diego In Person (Evan K, GSR) - Attendance: 18. Open positions: speaker seeker. Status: recent format change to improve the flow of the meeting, mostly rearranging blocks rather than significant text changes. Note: members routinely say how important and lovely attending this meeting is for them.
  2. Ann Arbor In Person (Jodi H, GSR) - Attendance: 2. Open positions: none. Status: struggling with attendance over the summer, with minimal attendance for the last 6 to 7 weeks. Needs: support with attendance and getting the word out for new members. Note: a few new people joined the meeting chat group; she hopes they will come to the meeting.
  3. Thursday OG (Sue W, GSR) - Attendance: 10 to 15. Open positions: chair soon. Status: doing fine.
  4. Salt Lake City (Shaynna, GSR) - Attendance: 5. Open positions: none; positions are on rotation. Status: excited for the convention; the whole group of regulars will be attending. Announcement: the group still needs its meeting time changed to Fridays at 7pm MST.
  5. Wednesday UK/Europe (Sam K, GSR) - Attendance: 20. Open positions: time keeper, male greeter. Status: doing fine, regular attendance, most service positions filled.
  6. Monday Entheon (Rick B, GSR) - Attendance: entered as “Regularly” (no number). Open positions: none. Status: doing fine.
  7. Glasgow Journey Through Self (Ami L, GSR) - Attendance: 5. Open positions: none. Status: struggling with attendance at the meeting and wants to attract new members.
  8. London (Anne R, reporting; the group does not have a GSR) - Attendance: 6. Open positions: GSR. Status: went back to monthly meetings in August due to poor attendance on a weekly basis.
  9. Sunday Integration (Paula G, GSR) - Attendance: 40. Open positions: greeter. Status: three motions passed at the 8/30 business meeting:
    • Motion 1 (format change): adds a pause at 8:55 PM to share the 7th Tradition invitation to make a contribution via the link pasted in the chat. When a QR code becomes available, it will also be shared on the screen at that time.
    • Motion 2 (format change): removes wording around discouraging shares when in an altered state.
    • Motion 3 (procedural): business meeting changed to the third Sunday of the month, following the Saturday GSR Subcommittee meeting.
  10. Friday 11th Step Mysticism (Andria, GSR) - Attendance: 22. Open positions: facilitator, chair. Status: just needs to get a new chair; otherwise a great meeting.
  11. Thursday Liminal Lounge (Andria, GSR) - Attendance: 30. Status: “an ongoing moving meeting.” Announcement: “This is a PIR Group..” (as submitted).
  12. Friday Night Topic (Scott E, GSR) - Attendance: 20+ ish. Open positions: none. Status: doing fine.
  13. Monday Womxn’s Meeting (Ari H, GSR) - Attendance: 10 to 20. Status: doing fine.
  14. Saturday Morning Live (Ben, GSR) - Attendance: 30. Open positions: chair. Status: making a format change (no details given).
  15. Wednesday Queer in Recovery (Ben, GSR) - Attendance: 5. Open positions: none. Status: doing fine.
  16. Thursday Love, Sex and Relationships (Jaime I, GSR) - Attendance: not reported; the GSR has not been able to attend due to life circumstances. Open positions: okay for now, will need a host soon. Status: thinks it is going okay but has not had a pulse on it. Announcement: please attend the business meeting. The group has been trying literature again and this month read from four books - Is it Love or Is it Addiction; How to Be an Adult in Relationships; The SLAA workbook; How to Get the Love You Want - and will decide this week which to read.
