TechCom October report: the helpdesks, the AstroLog, and a pipeline made honest
TL;DR: TechCom's monthly report to the GSR Subcommittee, October 17, 2026. The A.L.E.X. helpdesks are live on Discord and the web, the AstroLog Changelog is live as the fellowship's service record with a desk for every committee, a 24-hour publishing outage was repaired and the pipeline hardened, and TechCom remains on-call via WhatsApp. Attendance this period: Christopher, Littlebird and Alfred, plus ongoing collaboration with the Convention, PR, GSR and Board threads through WhatsApp.

Submitted for the October 17, 2026 GSR meeting; also filed here so the record and the report are the same document.
What we worked on
- The PIR Helpdesks are live. Type /techcom, /litcom, /github, /pr or /mod anywhere in Discord to open a private thread with the right team; the Helpdesk Portal serves non-Discord members; A.L.E.X. answers questions from PIR’s own pages, with sources.
- The AstroLog Changelog is live as the fellowship’s service record, with a desk for every committee, including a new GSR desk gathering minutes and reports. Minutes on Google Drive are migrating in, retroactive entries included, with original sources kept linked.
- We repaired a 24-hour publishing outage in the changelog pipeline and hardened it with a leak check so private service notes never reach the public site.
- The Convention Hub and Galleries reflect the concluded gathering, and recorded sessions are on the PIR YouTube channel.
- A lingering CDN issue on psychedelicsinrecovery.org was traced to its root cause with our host and resolved (WPX ticket #517528).
- A new walkthrough teaches any fellowship member how to contribute images to the record, no coding needed.
How to reach us
TechCom is on-call via WhatsApp rather than hosting regular meetings: come find us in the WhatsApp threads, or open a /techcom ticket. If you want to learn GitHub service, we teach; if you already know it, we would love your hands.
