October 2026 subcommittee reports: a book on Amazon, minutes going public, and a convention remembered
TL;DR: The subcommittee reports from October 17, 2026: PR is rebuilding its host bench and pushed the convention gallery; LitCom is fellowshipping and queuing a second FAQ batch; Tech is moving every committee's minutes onto the public record - this very desk; the Convention Committee counted just over 100 in person and began planning 2027 virtual and 2028 in Utah; and "Living Psychedelic Sober" is now on Amazon.

From the October 17, 2026 GSR meeting, recorded as reported in the room.
PR Committee — Anne R
- The committee now meets the first Saturday of the month, to avoid conflicting with the Saturday Morning Live business meeting. The hoped-for increase in volunteers has not really happened.
- One volunteer is editing the podcast into shorter reels; another is editing videos, especially the convention videos. Anne R has edited about half. The opening ceremony premiere is up on YouTube, and the rest will be released one at a time.
- The podcast is halted for now, with filler episodes released. The committee is recruiting 3 new hosts (2 minimum). Two episodes are ready for Josh to release, then a pause, with recording resuming in January.
- Alan H is still interested in being an interviewer and needs guidance; Anne R will reach out.
- Convention photo gallery: the Pixieset album is available to attendees now so photo removals can be requested. Anne R will push it to the web on the evening of 10/18. YouTube reel links are not needed on the site yet.
Literature Committee — Christopher
- Mostly fellowshipping over the past couple of months; attendance about 2 to 3.
- Two sets of FAQs: the website carries tweaks to the first, and the second matches a Google Drive link in the LitCom folder. (The story lives on LitCom’s desk.)
- A Literature Committee chair is wanted.
- Christopher filed the LitCom monthly report through the GSR form on 10/17, attendance entered as 3 - the report is on the record.
Tech — Christopher
- Committee minutes are moving to GitHub and being produced retroactively; every committee’s minutes use a similar structure.
- His AI agents “attend” TechCom meetings and aggregate the minutes into logs. Changelogs exist for the website, GSR, PR, LitCom and TechCom, in a unified hub - links shared in the meeting.
- Service site changes: committee pages and contact info.
- The homepage button now goes to the convention hub (old landing page, live stream, recordings). A gallery subdomain for the convention photo album is waiting on a certificate.
- Rick B has the 2020 and 2021 minutes on his drive and will share them by the WhatsApp back channel; Christopher accepted them.
- Christopher filed the TechCom monthly report through the GSR form on 10/17 - also on the record - and invited anyone interested in learning about tech to join a Zoom.
Convention Committee — Evan K, Anne R
- Evan K: the convention was warm and wonderful, and the committee wove community through the programming. Just over 100 attended in person and about 50 more streamed at various times. There were technical challenges; Christopher and on-site AV person Adam did “hero’s work.” A great first time - he thanked Christopher for being present from morning to night.
- Anne R: quality panels. One panel was dismantled less than 24 hours before and a better one came together. The next in-person convention is in 2 years (2028), very likely in Utah, still open for discussion. Next year (2027) will be virtual, in a different format. The committee holds its first debrief on 10/18.
- Alan H called it beautifully done with timely topics and will think about improvements. Rick B thanked the organizers and presenters, said those who could not attend were missed, and urged people to make it next time. Karyn S thanked Christopher for helping the Convention Committee and thanked Alan H for what he shared in the fellowship chat.
Book Committee
- The book is now available on Amazon. Anne R announced the release and asked that Douglas and the 12 Step Committee be congratulated. A few copies were at the convention - not enough for everyone.
- Karyn S received 3 copies and sent one to Elizabeth the day before; she asked for the Amazon link to be shared in the chat and incorporated it in the minutes.
- Evan K: the price is very low at the moment and may not last.
- Christopher: the 12 Steps page and the 12 Steps Committee page on the website both carry the Amazon link. Questions go to Douglas or Anne R.
- Karyn S thanked Douglas and the committee, including Jaime I, Mike B, Rick B and Anne R. Douglas was not present.
